Luc Walpoth is a Swiss filmmaker who works in both Europe and America.
His body of work, narrative films, documentaries, and commercials have been nominated and awarded at major festivals like Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs, Locarno, Fantasia, Sitges and many more. Over the years, Luc has developed projects supported by renowned institutions like Tribeca Institute, Californian Art Concil, UCLA TFT school, Torino FilmLab, NisiMasa, Swissfilms and enjoyed broadcasts all around the world.
Luc is currently in production on Log-Out, a limited series set in Switzerland, starring Irene Jacob, Sofia Essaïdi, Arcadi Radeff and Alexis Michalik. The series explores the spiral of deception against the backdrop of cybercrime and will be broadcast on RTS and TF1 in 2025.
In September 2024, Samuel Goldwyn Films releases in the USA, DEAD MONEY, a thriller set in the gambling world starring Emile Hirsch, Jackie Earl Haley, Rory Culkin, Peter Facinelli, David Keith and India Eisley.
In 2022, he produced and directed A TROJAN WOMAN, an interactive documentary set in a High Security Juvenile Correctional Facility in California.
In 2021, Luc directed the acclaimed Swiss/Italian co-production PERIPHERIC LOVE starring Iazua Larios (Apocalypto, Sundown), Fabio Troiano (Tre Sorelle, Upside Down) and Alessio Lapice (The First King, Diabolik).
His first feature film, BABY MONEY, is a thriller starring Danny Garcia (Fear of the Walking Dead, Prison Break), Michael Drayer (Mr. Robot, Sneaky Pete) and Taja V. Simpson (The Oval, Boo2). BABY MONEY premiered in 2021 at Fantasia and was distributed worldwide by Blue Fox Entertainment.
Luc launched his career by directing the short film REPLIKA, a science-fiction drama set in the world of artificial intelligence. REPLIKA went on to win numerous awards.The feature version is currently in development.
The trademark of Luc’s directing is balancing emotional tension with highly visual storytelling. His goal is to entertain the audience with relevant and hard hitting human drama. Luc resides in Los Angeles. He’s fluent in four languages: French, German, Italian, and English.
